I’m missing you and so many others,

It’s hard to believe that Fall is here in all its Glory. I have pumpkins on my porch and there is a chill in the air.  The sunsets on the shore have been super magnificent but our daylight seems to be running out earlier and earlier.  Summer during the Pandemic was interesting and wonderful all at the same time.

Slowing down allowed us to enjoy the simplicity as if we rolled back time.  Porch sitting, toes in the sand, swimming, long walks, grilling on charcoal, and spending time outdoors soaking up the sunshine felt especially gratifying this year. I found “home” to be our sanctuary providing a veil of normalcy in our otherwise topsy-turvy world.  As we focused on enjoying our retro summer, we definitely missed lots of our peeps.

How about you?  Were you able to social distance within your small bubble of close family and friends or are you still isolated, feeling lonely and missing the world we used to know?  Are you missing hugs and handshakes?  Do you crave a conversation without masks?  Are you feeling anxious as the cooler weather rolls in, recalling the familiar feelings of seclusion?

Me, too…….  I miss my family, I miss my friends, and I miss you!

but you can decide not to be reduced by them.”

-Maya Angelou

With that dose of inspiration, how about we shift the conversation and ask ourselves – What can we do with what we have, where we are at this moment?  If our glass is half full, we have plenty to look forward to and so much to be grateful for.  Enjoy Our Inaugural Elder Matters with Elena Newsletter – look for messages of hope and inspiration, useful information, and positive uplifting opportunities.
